Poverty and overcoming it, first starts in the mind. For our clients, it is much like learning to play an instrument. First comes the decision and a determination to learn something new. When people start playing that instrument, those around them might not want to listen. They might make a mistake and have to start over again. They might go public with their new talent before they are ready and get embarrassed. Those who succeed try again, and again, and again until they get it right. This is the same process with our clients. Our role is to help clients find a balance through mentoring, coaching, & by equipping without enabling anyone. Will you pray for us as we continue to move forward in that delicate balance? We want so badly to see everyone succeed in every area of their lives, but it’s a process, a very long process filled with varying emotions for everyone involved.

Some people believe that overcoming poverty is impossible. I believe that it is possible with the right “recipe”. One of the key ingredients to success at Chosen is a long term support system for each client. We work very diligently to make sure that everyone is supported. That means that for every client, there needs to be 2-3 people touching various areas of their lives. Our program works, but it will work better with more people. Nelson Mandela says that “Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great. YOU can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom.” We are in the process of interviewing potential clients who are ready to change their circumstances. People who have an unquenchable thirst that will not be quenched until they break through the barriers to their success. We have room for 5 new clients and even more room for you to come alongside them. Are you part of that generation that will choose to be a catalyst for extremely great change?  The bible (Luke 6:38) says, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.  For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
